FRANZ MUELLER Page 4
Photo on a German postcard.
Back of post card.
"Mother stands under the X"Comments received from German readers:
The imprint on the cards (Paul Klinke) suggests that it was taken in Berlin. The postal code points to the area "Wedding" in Berlin (west part of Berlin) which was an area of industry but up until the twenties (XX.Century) also partly a more rural area. I think there are no more leftovers from those little houses, for the allied bombers in WW2 bulldozed the remains of those old parts (maybe they were torn down during the first decades of the XX. century because the people needed new buildings to live in).
It seems this person came from Berlin or Brandenburg area, as they wrote "Mutter steht unters Kreuz" instead of "Mutter steht unterm (unter dem) Kreuz" The photo with mother under the X was from Paul Klinke a photoshop and atelier. Fotohaus (photohouse) Klinke exists til now in Berlin.
