- married 2) Dorothea Maria Mueller born 30 March 1823
- died 12 May 1886
After Michael Oertwig died, Dorothea married 12 Dec 1870, in Fayette County, Illinois
to Carl F. Sasse, son of Martin and Rebecca (Loest) Sasse
Dorothea and Carl Sasse are buried in the Immanuel Cemetery, Augsburg, Illinois.

   Johanna F.W. Wollenschlager, born 1856 in Germany, died 1926, Nebraska
