Carl Ludwig Oertwig, 86, of 19 McCormick Blvd., Normal, died at his home at noon Friday.
He had been in ill health for over a year.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Ernest L. Gerike officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Flinspach- Kurth Memorial Home and for one hour before the funeral at the church.
He was born Jan. 27, 1887 in St. Paul, the son of Carl and Anna Schwandt (sic) Oertwig. He married Emma Ranft Jan. 8, 1911, at Danvers.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Caroline Ehrlich, R.R. 4; Mrs. Irma Sieg, 410 Vernon, Normal; Mrs. Viola Smith, West Lafayette, Ind.; one son, Edward, West Lafayette, Ind.; one brother, Ben, Fond du Lac, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Mueller, Wood Hill Towers; Mrs. Julius Eberle, Princeville; nine grandchildren, and 10 great-grand-children. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the church choir for over 50 years. Memorials may be made to the church.
