Several generations of ancestors of Lucy Usher (Mrs. Tinlis Houser) lived in this region of the colonies, as early as 1631. They include surnames: Denison, Mason, Bushnell, Clark, Fenner, Fitch, Gregory, Hanley, Kirtland, Lay, Post, Seamer/Seymour, Stanton, and Thompson.
