- married 2) 03 April 1859 in Dodge County, Wisconsin to
Maria Stein born about 1826, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Friedrich Stein.

Johann Friedrich Oertwig immigrated with the Jagow, Sasse, Fellwock, Stein and Schwan families, in 1846, from Hamburg to New York on the RUSSIA, arriving in New York on September 15 of that year.
He married 1) "Marie" Dorothea Fellwock, at the Jagow home, where the community held services before their church building was completed. She died in childbirth with their 5th child
Left with 4 little girls, Johann married 2) Maria Stein, on 03 April 1859 in Dodge County, Wisconsin.

2. Louise Wilhelmine Emilie Oertwig, born 3 July 1852 in Wisconsin
   - married 12 June 1870 in Dodge County, Wisconsin to
   William Marohl, born October 1850 in Prussia
   This family moved to Richland County, North Dakota in the 1880's. In their later years Louise and William lived with their daughter Matilda Braatz. In 1920 they were with her in Sheridan County, North Dakota, and in 1930 Louise, widowed, lived with her in Morrison County, Minnesota. Marohl Family


3. Dorothea "Marie" Louise Oertwig, born about 1855 in Wisconsin
   - married 20 September 1874 in Dodge County, Wisconsin to
   Christian Arndt, born about 1834 in Prussia. He was a school teacher. The family lived in Dodge County, Wisconsin, and Goodhue County, Minnesota. Arndt Family

   - married about 1877 to
   William Graf, born about 1850 in Wisconsin
